Galileo CupWheel: Technology and innovation

CupWheel sidewalls feature a unique shape. This structure enables high flexibility in the radial direction, allowing a uniformly distributed footprint in extreme load cases, with combined high vertical loads and low inflation pressure. Patented design enable it to maintain its rolling circumference regardless of deflection / load and air pressure.

Unique V-shape structure

CupWheel tires look like regular tires and even use the same tread, bead and rim, yet the CupWheel’s innovative structure provides high radial flexibility, maintains enhanced lateral stability, and retains its circumference even with low or zero air pressure. Field tests reveal that CupWheel delivers up to 17% more traction than an IF tire and up to 25% higher traction than a standard tire.

Galileo CupWheel Technology 

The larger footprint ensures superior traction and stability. Up to 17% bigger footprint compared to a standard tire of the same size in field conditions. It efficiently handles high vertical loads under low inflation pressure, creating a long, evenly loaded footprint that resembles a track.

Extended footprint for less soil compaction

The CupWheel unique footprint design minimizes soil disruption, crucial for maintaining the soil's structure and the health of its microorganisms. The design allows to evenly distribute weight across the soil surface, which reduces soil compaction by avoiding excessive pressure at multiple points. Enhanced traction means reduced slippage during field operations. The structure of the soil is preserved by minimizing slippage, preventing damage and maintaining its integrity.

Preserving soil

The better grip provided by enhanced traction reduces slippage. Less slippage implies more direct translation of power to movement, reducing fuel consumption by up to 10%. Improved efficiency in fieldwork due to better traction results in significant time savings. The tire's design allows for reliable performance even in wet, muddy conditions, reducing downtime that typically occurs during and after rainfall.

Lateral stability is independent of inflation pressure, allowing safe and comfortable rides at high speeds and 
low pressures, even in narrow curves. Testing has demonstrated 167% higher lateral stability of the CupWheel tractor tire compared to a standard tire with low air pressure and high load conditions.
